I used to smile at Icke's theories but the more I study things the more distorted "reality" begins to look. And even if many things Icke describes are so horrible that you want to deny them, you have to admit that those things are happening in the world all the time - but it's easier to close your eyes and live in the illusion of safety of the "welfare state".
